Magnificent scarlet full morocco, elaborate gilt to both covers, five raised bands, lettered and decorated gilt on the backstrip, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, wide gilt dentelles. Pages 5 and 6 of the preface are heavily spotted otherwise a fine copy. No copy of this edition located on WorldCat. A limited edition of this book was produced in 1861 by Le Cercle Autour Du Poele which met in John Penington's bookstore in Philadelphia, the publisher of this edition. This appears to be a specially printed and bound copy, however there is no dedication or any other writing on it.
