First edition, first printing, deluxe issue, number 246 of 250 copies signed by both editors on the title page of the first volume. Frederic Sackrider Remington (1861-1909) was an American artist and writer who specialized in depictions of the Old American West. Two volumes, folio. Publisher's deluxe binding in brown leather, titles in gilt to spines and with pictorial design of a buffalo to front boards, grey patterned endpapers, beige bookmarks. With the CD-Rom in its colour card sleeve, within paper pocket to front pastedown of vol. 1, as issued. Housed in publisher's beige buckram slipcase. Numerous colour and monochrome in-text and full-page illustrations after Remington. Notably unfaded and crisp, minor scuff mark to spine of vol. 2, else a fine set.
