He reached old age by sticking strictly to a scheme of life which would kill somebody else. That life, one of the rarest. richest and raciest America has known, is captured here in a delightful mosaic of words and pictures. The words are Twain's own, taken from a vast variety of his writings, not only the autobiography. but his letters. notebooks. mewspaper reportimg, sketches. travel pieces. evem fiction. His old schoolmate Laura Hawkins Frazer (the Becky Thatcher of Tom Sawyer) published this book and there is a photo included of the two of them when they dined together on one of his visits to Hannibal, Missouri. Owner's name back of front cover. DJ cover is in two separate piece but covers the entire DJ. One of the most interesting biographies ever made. Here is Mark himself, from the apprentice in his printer's cap to the flying world-famous figure finishing his last voyage in a wheelchair. The paperback book Mark Twain's Hannibal (in fair condition-scrape to lover left corner) is about the author, a genealogical chart, desciptions of places and how to get to them, questions and answers, a chronology of Twain's life, and a listing of books about Mark Twain (Samuel Langhorne Clemens).
