First Edition. From mystery author Sue GraftonÕs private research library on crime that she used as she wrote her novels. With the Sue Grafton estate bookplate on the front pastedown, and with a letter of authentication from Grafton's husband. 172 pages. Sue Grafton is mentioned throughout the book as noted in the index. Fine copy in a near fine dust jacket with some minor sunning at the spine. Sue Grafton (1940 - 2017) is best known as the author of the Ôalphabet seriesÕ which began with A Is for Alibi (1982) featuring private investigator Kinsey Millhone in the fictional city of Santa Teresa, CA - roughly modeled after Santa Barbara, CA where she made her home. Sadly, she did not live long enough to publish the last letter of the alphabet, with her final work being Y Is for Yesterday (2017). The daughter of detective novelist C.W. Grafton, she said the strongest influence on her crime novels was Ross Macdonald. Before her success with this series, she wrote screenplays for television movies.
