AA4 - Book has some wear on the cover, tear on the front bottom right corner, bumped corners, stains and foxing on the cover, page edges and some inside pages, previous owner's bookplate adhered on the front loose endpaper, moderate discoloration, and shelf wear otherwise good. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Clean text, tight binding, minor corner bumping and color fading along the spine. The dust jacket exhibits minor corner bumping and color fading, but has since been placed in a protective cover to prevent further damage. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

The book was published by Alfred A. Knopf in 1955 and is a stated First Edition . . . and the price on the dust jacket flap is $2.25. The book is 6 1/4" by 8 1/4" and has 114 pages with a Table of Contents and black-and-white illustrations throughout. Both the book and the dust jacket are in good + condition . . . and there IS an inscription at the top of the front loose end page. Apparently the book was a gift in June of 1960. "Alive with the atmosphere and culture of Denmark - this beautifully told story has all the simplicity and integrity of a tale by Hans Christian Andersen." Thanks for looking!.

Dustjacket is in Good condition with slight chips and creasing around its edges, The dustjacket has been placed in a Brodart protective cover by us to protect it and it looks much better than described. . This does not affect the dustjacket in any way, as all taping is done on the outside of the protector. $ 2.50 original price is present and unclipped on front dustjacket flap. No Signature.
