About the Author:
The daughter of a diplomat and industrialist, Angi Ma Wong was born in Nanking, China, and has lived in New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, New York/New Jersey and Washington, D.C. She was the founding president of the women s service sorority, Chi Delta Alpha, which in 2007 celebrated its 40th anniversary, at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Angi later graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in English, followed by post-graduate studies at UCLA and California State University, Long Beach, resulting in a lifetime California Teaching Credential. She is an award-winning businesswoman and best-selling author who has written 29 titles, fifteen on feng shui, the Chinese environmental system of placement, including Feng Shui Dos and Taboos ® series and the award-winner TARGET: The U.S. Asian Market, and contributing author to many other titles. Her latest children s books are Barack Obama: Historymaker and Meet President Obama and newest release for November 2010 is A Cancer Survivor s Secrets to Healthy Living Angi founded her intercultural and feng shui consultancy and corporate training business in 1989 and her publishing company, Pacific Heritage Books in 1992. Through writing, publishing, public speaking and seminars, she bridges cultures for understanding and profitability between Asians and non-Asians. She was named Outstanding L.A. Businesswoman of the Year by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) in 1995 and won the IRWIN Award as the Southern California Publicist of the Year in 1997 as well as received numerous other honors for her work and volunteerism. Most recently, Angi was given the Heritage Award from the Aquarium of the Pacific in November 2009. Among Ms. Wong s clientele are AT&T, Bank of America, Universal Studios (Beijing), COTY International, the Limited, Paul Anka Productions, Four Seasons Hotel, Ford Motor Company, Kemer Country (Istanbul) , Crustacean and Dragon Noodle Restaurants, American President Lines, MTA, and over 100 residential and commercial real estate developers globally such as KB Homes, Taylor Woodrow, Centex, Pulte, Lennar, Toll Brothers and Standard Pacific. Known as The Feng Shui Lady® , Angi has appeared on OPRAH, Regis and Kelly, CNN Headline News, CBS Sunday Morning, in TIME, PEOPLE and Redbook as well as over 600 features in print, broadcast and on Internet. Her countless audiences include the 2001 4th Annual Feng Shui Conference, 1999 London International Feng Shui Conference, Pacific Coast Builders Conference, Chicago Merchandise Mart, Pacific Design Center, L.A. Mart, Color Marketing Group, Urban Land Institute, National Assn. of Homebuilders, and the Homebuilders and/or Sales and Marketing Councils of Chicago, Denver, Atlanta, Charlotte, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Orange County. Angi has been active in Rotary International District 5280 and the Palos Verdes Sunset Rotary Club since 1993, its president in 2001-02 and Assistant Governor for 2003-04, 2004-06, Leadership Breakfast chair 2008-09 and Sr. Asst. Governor 2006-07 & 2009-2010. In 2006-07, she was the Rotarian team leader for the month-long Group Study Exchange to Mexico. She served as the Chair of Communications for the Host Organization Committee and D5280 Chair for the convention commemorative project, Rotary s Wide World of Books for the LA2008 Rotary International Convention in Los Angeles. Angi is also a charter member and past president of the Chinese Historical Society of Southern California and continues to serve as a docent. A three-time cancer survivor, wife, and mother of four adult children, she is a dynamic, inspirational and popular speaker with a passion for bridging cultures and family literacy, who travels worldwide to share her expertise on a wide range of topics to international audiences.
