Giving gifts at Christmas is a way of showing our love. But Christmas offers its own gifts, which aren't wrapped up under the tree. Praying, caroling, worshiping, and family are just some of the joys of Christmas that are wondrous gifts in themselves. With gentle rhymes and loving illustrations, this charming book reminds young and old of the Christmas gifts the season offers.

From School Library Journal:
PreSchool-Grade 1–A simple rhyming text in large print presents a white middle-class family preparing for Christmas with relatives and friends: "Tree is trimmed,/lights are dimmed./Prayers are said/and carols hymned." The focus is on togetherness and appreciation of the true meaning of the holiday as the real gifts. Attractive, boldly hued watercolors frame each page with a different seasonal motif, perfectly complementing the text. A comforting, cozy lap or bedtime read-aloud.–M. W.
