From the Back Cover:
You've Got to Learn to Walk Before You Can Crawl

The heat from the smoky fire reaches you at the scarred, wooden bar. The pint of real ale in your hand is cool, solid, and glows copper-red in the light of the flames. Taking another long pull of beer (after all, you've earned it), you think to yourself, "it can't possibly get any better than this." Then you remember you have two more pubs to visit, and you think, "maybe it can!"

Join Barrie Pepper, one of Great Britain's best-known beer writers, as he guides you on 50 excursions by foot, bus, and train through some of the most picturesque parts of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland to sample their finest traditional ales in some of their most historic pubs. This is pub crawling at its best!

Each of these 50 pub crawls, from Aberdeen to York, includes concise and clear directions, a detailed map of your route, pub recommendations (including what's on tap and on the menu), brewery and pub histories, and fascinating facts about points along your way.

From a trip across London Bridge, to a hike over the meadows of Wharfedale, or even a ride on the Severn Valley Railway, you will agree that this is the way to see Great Britain & Ireland.
