After sharing undergraduate courses in art and English at Albion College in Michigan, John and Melanie Aves have been involved in art and design throughout their careers and their thirty-year marriage. Melanie has been associated with various schools and universities as teacher, professor, and a lifelong student in the field of art and journalism. John consults with several home furnishings companies on marketing and design development. They have been involved with the publication of over 20 books on interior design, many of which have been translated into several languages and are sold throughout the world. The Aves have three daughters and live in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
