Diane Swanson is the award-winning author of more than 60 factual books for children, including The Wonder in Water and Turn It Loose: The Scientist in Absolutely Everybody. She lives in Victoria, British Columbia.
In a book that is part science and part English lesson, Swanson introduces the collective noun that applies to each of 10 animal groups. Some groups, such as a pride of lions, may be familiar to children, but even grown-ups may learn something new as they read this aloud: Ever heard of a bouquet of pheasants or a sleuth of bears?
