Society today reminds me of a dynamo spinning at ever higher speeds. While more energy and productivity is achieved, if the load ever becomes unbalanced or the bearings overheat, the increasing spin rates will add their destructive potential when and if it breaks loose. Thinking about ways to keep the dynamo balanced or to slow it down to a point where humans are not threatened with an extinction level event of our own technological device is fascinating to me and I am hopeful that The Divinity Protocol makes people think about the near and far future in terms of the technical and societal decisions we make today.
