Sandra Custard is a native of Mississippi and is the former Sandra Clemmons of Columbus. She is the mother of one daughter, Monica Yates of Bristol, TN, one son, Brian Custard of Columbus, and the grandmother of three girls. She and her husband, Ken, are active members of Woodland Baptist Church in Columbus. Like most Christians, she is no stranger to trials, disappointments, temptations and battle scars, but believes that every experience for the Christian is intended to teach us to walk by faith and not by sight, and to bring us into a closer walk with the Lord. For those who are searching for peace, purpose and fulfillment in their lives, she offers hope in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Her poem, "Expressions," perhaps best sums up her love of writing. It also affords me the advantage of looking inward and questioning my own thoughts and motives before expressing them. I believe this could be beneficial for us all. I wonder how many of our words and actions would be altered if we first penned them and could see the thoughts and intents of our hearts, on paper, staring back at us. I am convinced that many of life's mistakes could be avoided if only we would learn to think before we act or speak.
