A FRIGHTENINGLY CREDIBLE, RIVETING, ACTION-ADVENTURE NOVEL!

Craig O. Thompson's novel is an action-filled, suspense-thriller--intertwined with a blend of historical fiction--set in 1995... and 1910.

Based on fact, OMAR is a literary novel of suspense and intrigue, where truth and myth come together to chronicle a triadic underwater race of epic proportions.

Excessive greed, pride, world politics--and the sacrificing of values to accomplish greater ends--compete with the very real possibility of nuclear, biological or chemical terrorism's arrival on democratic shores.

FACT:
London, England, 1910 to 1912. Two men--an antiquarian book dealer and the acclaimed official bookbinder and "illuminator" to His Majesty the King--commissioned and created "the most magnificent book binding in the world." While en route to its new owner, the RMS Titanic--carrying the binding and its courier--sank in the North Atlantic. And the gold-and-jewel-bound book was lost at sea.

FACT OR FICTION?
Eighty-three years later, in 1995, the priceless book lay buried hundreds of miles out from the Grand Banks of Newfoundland, at 2077 fathoms from the surface of the North Atlantic Ice Barrier.

Terrorists, mercenary divers, and government agents rush to the site of the "illuminated" binding and other lost treasure... worth well over $30 million, if found. And the book becomes the primary object of an underwater race that could change the face of world politics... and strike fear in the heart of any democratic nation

Circumstances set off a web of international intrigue, so frightening, that CIA's Colonel Bramson and FBI's decorated agent, Jennifer Nakamura, were jointly assigned to the project.

Dr. Cary Parker, Woods Hole oceanographer and scientist--unwillingly drafted, by CIA, to beat both teams to the ship's location--had to choose between his belief that such "gravesite" treasures should be left untouched... versus mercenary beliefs of unscrupulous divers who would sell their souls to recover them.

Having already faced death straight-on, at two and a half miles below sea-level, Parker was forced to decide whether the cause was just another CIA and FBI misadventure--or a truly dangerous time for democratic nations

From the Publisher:
StrataGem Press™, an imprint of Brightwater Publishing Company, is proud to present one of the most timely and topical books ever issued--Craig O. Thompson's insightful "OMAR: A Novel"--a story about terrorism's arrival on democratic shores.

Released one month before the September 11th, 2001 tragedies, "OMAR: A Novel" comes at a time when America--and many other nations--must face the very real possibility of continued horrific terrorist acts and the specter of "NBCRW" (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, Radiological Warfare) on their homelands.

With his keen sense of history, a wry sense of humor (Thompson insists we must keep our sense of humor during these trying times), and with his ability to bring stories to life, this author writes of a time when desperate people trade land-mines for loaves of bread; where rockets are bought by terrorists, world-wide, for the cost of surplus metal; when rogue-states obtain nuclear warheads, from the former Soviet Union, for ten cents on the dollar; where the world's deadliest bio-toxins, Enriched Uranium, and Plutonium 239 can be smuggled, undetected, across borders in aerosol cans and lipstick cases...and where jetliners can be turned into despicable weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

Virtually every noted think-tank in America agrees--conservative, liberal, and non-partisan....The question is no longer if terrorist NBCRW attacks will continue to happen in America....The question is only when.

Following the Attack on America, Craig--a terrorism expert--provided live and taped interviews to over 220 radio/TV, newspaper and magazine organizations throughout the world (from Venezuela to New Zealand, London to Vancouver...and most of America).

A regular expert correspondent with WMAL-ABC Talk-Radio, Washington, DC, Mr. Thompson offered suggestions for national preparedness on many national and syndicated broadcasts--with over 75 hours of interviews in the first ten days following Attack on America.

On Monday, September 10, 2001, Thompson was interviewed for 3 hours by Los Angeles' 50,000 watt KFI veteran talk-show host, Lee Klein, on his late-night show that reaches 16 states. As he had done many times before, Craig gave warnings of probabilities for attacks on our homeland...led by Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda suicide bombers. He talked of the high probability for bioterrorism, and the need for massive programs of preparedness with our public health systems. He spoke of a major lack of security in our airports, and within our borders, and with our INS.

During the radio interview a caller said, "We have more of a chance of being attacked by Oakland Raider fans than by terrorists." Thompson remarked that the listener was "...living in the same ether that member of Congress had been living in since the fall of the Soviet Union, thinking we no longer had any enemies."

Author, Craig O. Thompson has created a suspense-filled, fictional premise--based on fact--that lays the reality and issues of terrorism directly in the reader's lap. And it will at once alarm and startle the reader page by page-turning page.

Welcome to the realm of "OMAR: A Novel by Craig O. Thompson.

From the Author:
When I first set out to write "OMAR: A Novel," it was with the desire to write an exciting thriller and action-adventure story.

Terrorism was a subject we only read about in the papers or witnessed on the news. Wars always happen somewhere else. Right? After all, Americans had never faced a war on their homeland.

That is, until the first bombing of the World Trade Center, in 1993, and the Murrah Federal Building--by "one of our own," in 1995...then, the incredible tragedies on September 11, 2001, in New York and Washington, DC.

I researched terrorism and NBCRW (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, Radiological Warfare) for a dozen years. What I discovered made me think twice about protecting our loved-ones and the security of our nation.

My research gave me a plot that became so real as to make it difficult to divide fiction from reality. In fact, today it has been called "More Faction Than Fiction."

For where is the dividing line, now, between vengeance, power, schizophrenic or psychological behaviors, religious beliefs, or political motivations? For centuries these have all been justifications for creating "asymmetric" terror among populations.

As your read "OMAR: A Novel" consider that it was originally written to serve as just that...a novel--with a serious caution for heightened awareness. Now, it serves as a warning for international vigilance.

My hope is that you will enjoy reading "OMAR" as much as I enjoyed writing it.

As I continue my public mission, to encourage our government and citizens to practice better advocacy and preparedness against the continued use of terrorist's weapons of mass destruction, please consider getting involved in preparedness programs at your community, state, and federal levels. When you call 911 for help, following a biological terrorist attack...there just may not be someone at the other end to answer.
