Thus transformed, he anoints himself with the pseudonym "The Sad-Figured Knight." With flowing dialogue (Spanish-speaking novices beware) in the characteristic Castilian accent, non-Castilian actors capture the engaging and fascinating prose, as well as attract readers new to Cervantes. The work is presented as a drama with an individual performer for each character. Quijote's deep androgynous voice dominates above that of his groom, Sancho, and all the others. The background music preserves the story's solemn tone, and clever sound effects like galloping hoofbeats produce an outstanding audio experience.
