About the Author:
Susan Meyers grew up in the country, where she felt a strong sense of kinship with the animals of the woods and fields. She hopes this book will help children recognize that kinship, too. Susan is also the author of Puppies! Puppies! Puppies! ,illustrated by David Walker.

Splotchy watercolor-and-gouache art with comical, elongated figures give a lightness and freshness to the text, which is both a story about a family's day out and an opportunity for little ones to relish the rhythmic sounds of made-up words.
