The evil vice-principal, Mr. Canfield, ignores the write-in votes for Paisley, aka Miss UnPleasant, in the sophomore class president elections. That means Hutch, the one responsible for outing her, is now class president to the disgust of the UnPops, who lead a revolution to get a new election. Paisley, banned from writing as Miss UnPleasant, supports the campaign for a new election but finds herself drawn into other conflicts, like someone circulating a sexy photo of Paisley's former friend, Jen. Then there's Eric and Clint, the two boys who Paisley likes and can't choose between. Picking up where the previous novel left off, Kisses and Tells is a romp through the high school social landscape. The battle between the Pops and the UnPops is vividly created, with a tone that is exaggerated but still grounded in reality. Paisley's ability to inspire others is thanks to her larger-than-life personality and way with words. Snappy catchphrases and dialogue pepper the novel, and sidebars–humorously called sidebras–explain earlier events or the Paisley-invented phrases.
