About the Author:
Shirley Ayres, a professional librarian, is the appointed historian for Bradley Beach, a member the executive board of the Bradley Beach Historical Society, a writer of historical articles for local newspapers, and the coauthor of two titles with Arcadia Publishing on the history of Bradley Beach. For Asbury Park, she selected postcards from the excellent collection of the Asbury Park Public Library and combined them with historical details that bring back the scent of the sea and the aura of the day.
